The Public Works Department presents

The Public Works Department is proud to present its second venture featuring some of Melbourne’s rising talents, with a focus on deep, driving and hypnotic techno. This time around, The Public Works Department takes over the intimate spaces at Loop, a truly underground venue in the heart of the city, with music by Samari, James Manning, PWD and Sam Bentley.

Samari is one of the minds behind luxxeparty.com and the widely regarded and successful Gradient events, and cites Dave Clarke and Luke Slater as some of his major influences. Having previously run events in New Zealand, Samari made the trip across the Tasman to have an impact in his new home of Melbourne. Samari will be debuting his live AV set on the night, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store.

TEA man James Manning has hosted Marcel Dettmann and Robert Hood at events in his native Adelaide, and this year has been responsible for tours for Xhin and Stroboscopic Artefacts label boss Lucy. His interviews with some of the biggest names in techno have provided some great insight into the people behind the music, and have helped raise the profile of a number of artists on the international stage. You can check these out and more at teaandtechno.blogspot.com

Public Works Department residents PWD and Sam Bentley will join Samari and James to round out the musical aspect of the night.

Visual entertainment will be provided by Netzair, whose previous work alongside such names as Jeff Mills, Redshape, Sandwell District, Ben Klock and Monolake set him apart as one of Melbourne’s best.

Entry is free, with the night starting at 10pm on Friday the 23rd of September, at 23 Meyers Place, Melbourne. For more information, please visit facebook.com/thepublicworksdepartment or email thepublicworksdepartment at gmail dot com
